Experience and Education

Alicia Kowsky’s path to healing began with her own. In 2012, searching for relief from chronic pain, she became a certified yoga teacher and later completed a three-year Yoga Therapy program. Through this work, she built meaningful connections with students also living with persistent pain—adapting movement practices to meet them where they were, and witnessing how personalized care could transform lives. That experience lit a spark.

Driven to deepen her ability to help others, Alicia went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Upstate Medical University in 2019. While in school, she continued teaching yoga, working in outpatient care, and building relationships with patients navigating chronic pain. Her clinical training, paired with her therapeutic movement background, now informs her holistic, hands-on approach.

Today, Dr. Alicia Kowsky is one of the only physical therapists in upstate New York specializing in pelvic floor therapy. She brings a mindful, integrative lens to care—combining manual therapy, movement, and nervous system support to help patients reconnect with their bodies and reclaim their lives.

Outside the clinic, Alicia continues to teach yoga focused on pain reduction and mobility. You can often find her hiking through the Catskills or Adirondacks—grounded in nature, breath, and movement.
